It was an exciting year at InvestED! Thanks to the generous support of our donors, we were able to support almost 25,000 secondary students last year and provided almost $1 million in support to over 600 schools throughout the state. We know there are so many more students who could use support from InvestED.
Over 1.1 million students attend Washington State public schools, and approximately half are from low-income families and receive free or reduced school lunches. While we reached almost 25,000 students last year, we never lose sight of the fact that those are 25,000 individuals facing a unique set of barriers that prevent them from realizing their full potential. Without athletic equipment, a student cannot participate in many extra-curricular activities. Without a backpack or calculator, a student is not prepared for class. A student who has worked hard to keep their grades up cannot apply to college if they can't afford the application fees. Challenges like these can have a significant impact on student's social and interpersonal skills, as well as their self-esteem. That's where InvestED has been stepping in for nearly 60 years. We provide immediate help for under-served students to help them get to school, engage in school, and graduate.
At InvestED, we believe small acts of kindness can change the world. Thank you for joining us in reaching more students with the help they need to soar!
Thanks to our 1,320+ InvestED coordinators, students in need receive immediate and discrete financial support.
This story came to us from a partner school. See how a student's life was transformed.
"Helping students succeed takes many forms. For our underrepresented populations, often they just need to know someone at school cares about them! They can engage, they can dream, and they can succeed as long as school is a caring place. If covering a class fee or getting them a ticket to a dance does that, what a small price to pay for a teenager's future success! InvestED helps us pay small fees to make large impacts."
Support is individulazied based on a student's unique needs
