Compassion in Action: Thank You!

The work of REACH continues during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Center of Hope staff helped one family find stable housing in April and another family should be housed soon. Six new families have been accepted into the Center of Hope while following strict quarantine protocols to ensure everyone's safety and well-being. The REACH Meal Coalition continues to feed hungry members of our community while putting into place new distancing protocols and safety measures that require that all meals are served in a "to go" manner. We began April by serving 55 clients weekend dinner meals; the number of clients served has continued to grow and reached 98 clients by the end of April. Our weekday breakfast meals average 37 clients each day but has been as high as 47 clients.

We are so grateful and encouraged by the generosity and kindness of our community. Your gifts of time, goods, money, and service empower our work to end homelessness and hunger. Please take a look at some recent blessings.

Valley Medical Newcastle Clinic staff, Shermece Brown, clinic supervisor; Angela Zhang, M.D.; and Aimee Higgins, CMA have set up a REACH collection bin in their clinic. This will be an ongoing event. Thank you!

First Financial Northwest Bank , the Renton Chamber of Commerce and the Renton Regional Community Foundation have all provided extra services and help as we respond to needs brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic. We are truly fortunate to have local partners who care deeply for those we serve.

Thank you to all the people from Barbee Mill neighborhood who helped provide these delicious pizzas for our families at the Center of Hope!

In times of economic uncertainty for many in our community,  individual donors are helping to make sure folks in South King County can find a place to eat and get help with housing through this crisis and beyond. During the month of April $23,300 was given. We are so honored to have your support and trust.

Delicious food is created and donated to our Center of Hope families twice a week by Green Apple Events & Catering co-owned by sisters, Kris Brown and Cheryl Seaton. We really appreciate their generosity...and they deliver all the way from Redmond! Thanks also to longtime REACH friend, Myrriah Hayden, who made this connection for us.
