Nurse Staffing Solutions Launches "Wheels of Wellness" Campaign to Bring Mobile Training to Underserved Communities

Renton, WA — In an ambitious drive to bridge healthcare disparities, improve access to training in rural and underserved communities, and increase the number of people entering nursing as a vocation, Nurse Staffing Solutions (NSS), a veteran and woman-owned firm specializing in healthcare training, has launched the "Wheels of Wellness" campaign. This initiative aims to raise capital to convert a 40-foot transit bus into a state-of-the-art mobile training lab, enhancing vocational access to Home Care Aides (HCA), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA), and other vital healthcare training programs.
A Vision Rooted in Equity and Access
Founded by Chisula Chambers, a nurse with over 20 years of experience in healthcare, NSS is committed to creating opportunities for marginalized communities through innovative and culturally competent education. The "Wheels of Wellness" bus conversion will bring their mission to life by providing on-the-go training to rural, tribal, and underserved regions. "There's a critical shortage of healthcare professionals across the state, especially in areas where access to quality training is limited," said Miss Chambers, Director of Nursing Education. "Our goal with this campaign is to ensure that every aspiring healthcare worker has a fair chance to receive top-notch training, regardless of where they live or their ability to travel."
The Mobile Lab: What It Offers
The mobile training lab will be fully equipped with the necessary tools to deliver comprehensive training in CPR, Home Care Aide, CNA, and specialized courses like HCA-CNA and CNA-MA bridge programs.
Key features include:
NSS offers weekly CPR classes, monthly home care aide classes, long-term care specialty courses, and continuing education, and has secured a clinical affiliation agreement with the Department of Veteran Affairs at four facilities across Washington state to offer the certified nursing assistant program. NSS collaborates with the Renton Chamber of Commerce's education committee, along with various community organizations. The firm is also forming a promising partnership with the Tubman Center for Health and Freedom, a Seattle-based health justice organization. Together, they plan to integrate an "anti-racist" track into the curriculum and offer specialty training at school-based health sites.
Supporting the Campaign
NSS calls on community members, healthcare organizations, and local businesses to support the "Wheels of Wellness" campaign. Donations will directly fund the bus conversion and nursing school operations, helping to outfit the mobile lab with cutting-edge training equipment.
