Sunset over a calm lake with a wooden pier, surrounded by trees with autumn foliage and a gazebo on the right. Sunlight filters through leaves, creating a serene atmosphere.

Children's Institute for Learning Differences (CHILD)
Education | 50+ FTE | Non-Profit Organizations
Member Since: March 2015
More than 31 school districts throughout Puget Sound turn to CHILD for therapeutic educational and clinical intervention services to reach children either not attending school or those failing in their current school placements. At CHILD children who suffer from conditions that interfere with learning, (Autism Spectrum Disorder, Sensory Processing Disorder, ADD/ADHD, mental health and anxiety disorders, or other neurologically-based disabilities) are helped to develop increased levels of self-regulation, the capacity to make and maintain friendships, and the ability to engage in problem-solving activities. Students who were once struggling become open to learning; with most transitioning back to their home school districts within 1-3 years.
